Your work will have real-world impact, and you’ll be supported in achieving your career goals.The IT Solutions Architect is a technology and architecture leader with broad knowledge of systems, services, software architectural concepts and system integration patterns. In this role, the IT Solutions Architect, is part of the Pharma Services Group, aligned to the Clinical Trials Division (CTD). The Architect is responsible for understanding the business goals, requirements and objectives; and aligning these objectives to the Group IT strategy.The IT Solutions Architect works with Enterprise, Group, and Division IT resources to identify leading edge digital solutions that meet customer needs with scalable and extensible architectures and solutions. The Architect will drive the ideation, design, and provide guidance for the development, and implementation of the technologies and solutions, partnering closely with the stakeholders to define and execute on the products roadmap. The Architect will lead the design of applications and high data volume business platforms ensuring systems integrate effectively and scale globally.How will you make an impact?Collaborate with IT leadership and business stakeholders in technical strategy-setting sessions
Define and drive adoption of architecture frameworks, patterns and standards
Actively lead the CTD technical vision, in alignment with the Group strategy
Advocate of digital technology & solutions
Drive definition and refresh of multi-year technology roadmaps
Challenges self, team and peers regarding currently held technical/operational views in-line with digital strategy
Keeps abreast of latest business systems technology
Help to create Service Level Agreements to set clear expectations with all parties
Understand the strategic business direction in an effort to identify opportunities for technology innovation
Lead discussions to deliver architectural decisions and tradeoffs, with the perspective of internal and external stakeholders
Analyze and synthesize architecture diagrams to uncover potential operational gaps
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, solving complex problems
How will you get here?Strong experience in building solutions leveraging Cloud Architectures and Services (AWS preferred)
Experience with Apache Spark
Experience with Message Queue
Strong experience in identifying architecture patters for re-usability and compliance to standards
Ability to navigate and understand a large IT department with a high number of technologies and technical disciplines
Building strong relationships; excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills
Good understanding of digital supply chain in a service operations model
Experience leading a matrix team of professionals, and communicating with various levels of management is highly desired. Ability to work with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
Experience working in Validated / GxP environments (preferred)
5+ years working experience working with business executives
5+ years working in the Pharmaceuticals or Life Sciences industry (preferred)
Bachelor's Degree in the field of information technology, engineering, computer science and / or business administration (required)
Proven ability in a high growth business and developing teams to scale and deliver on commitments
Advanced degree in business or technology, such as an MBA (preferred).
