Description: What is the specific title of the position? After conversion title will be - Sr Systems Mgmt Analyst
Where is the work to be performed? Preferred at Horsham but I am open for remote as well
Can you please provide a summary of the project/initiative which describes what's being done?

This resource will be responsible for monitoring and working on service change requests (SCR) and incident queues , monitoring environments and service availability, minimizing service impacts by addressing any issues in timely manner, following ITIL standards for incident, problem and change management, working closely with business and development teams.

What does the team make-up look like how many members and what is the break-down of the team's skill sets (ex: 1 PM, 4 Developers, etc.)?

Team is mix of SOW workers, contractors and employees supporting COMPAS application. These are java applications running on VMs and some services running in Kubernetes as well. These apps use oracle as backend database.


Job Responsibilities

Understand data model and business processes
Analyze Data discrepancies due to Batch abruption or entered through hosted application
Work with business to understand data discrepancy and build database scripts to get the data corrected as required
Monitor the environment health, and drive improvements to enhance availability and performance
Utilize strong technical aptitude on a daily basis with experience in SFTP, Batch Execution (TWS), Oracle / SQL Databases, UNIX / Linux Operating systems, Service Based Architecture, Monitoring
Identify and remediate failed batch and real-time processing events
Manage Critical incident call support (24x7)
Drive technical team members to restore services in a expedited manner
Take a lead role in technical problem solving
Demonstrate a strong understanding of issues, including in-depth technical analysis, troubleshooting, analyzing, root cause and engaging appropriate SMEs as needed to drive incident and problem management
Ensure overall organizational support goals are met (i.e. SLA, incident / problem reduction, application availability)
Coordinate root cause analysis efforts for permanent resolution on all incidents
Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies
Ensure support readiness prior to the deployment of any change to the production environment
Customer service orientation is a key to success - on a daily basis, you will collaborate with internal business partners, engineering teams and other technology professionals
Create and share technical knowledge documentation
Provide release support for code deployments
Ability to adapt both written and oral communications to a variety of different audiences
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks
Mentor junior team members - providing training and technical direction as needed.
Automate routine tasks using unix scripting and other tools to build in stability and efficiency in day to day tasks

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience with Oracle database development
Proficient with PL/SQL and SQL
Proficient with SQL Tuning
Proficient with Unix and Shell scripting
4+ years of technical applications support preferably in a hosted services environment
2+ years of experience with UNIX based operating systems
Strong troubleshooting and analysis skills
ITIL experience including incident, change and problem management
Technical leadership, with a track record of driving shortened issue restoration and problem resolution over time
Ability to anticipate and drive change
Possess strong technical aptitude, and ability to quickly learn/adopt new processes and technologies
Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of healthcare, healthcare payer services, related terminology, and process flows
Experience with database and application design documentation
Understands application design and development best-practices, standards and conventions
Experience with cloud technologies
Knowledge of automation tools (Jenkins, Chef, Ansible)
Knowledge of ServiceNow, or similar tool
Knowledge of GitHub or any other source code control systems
Experience with Java / J2EE / JSP / JSF development
