What you’ll be doing You will focus on the application uses cases and solutions related to the Verizon Real Time Enterprise (RTE). The RTE architecture encompasses the 5G Ultra Wide Band technology, the Intelligent Edge Network fiber foundation, the Multi Access Edge Computing (MEC) platform, and the Software Defined Networking services. They are a leader in the Application Enablement services portfolio which is how our agile and secure networking services can improve customer’s application initiatives and business outcomes. The goal is to inspire our customer to view network and security services as an enabler for application initiatives as opposed to the legacy model of it being a constraint. This is accomplished through consultative discussions on their journey to software-defined networking and the Real Time Enterprise (RTE).You will have a focus area for a particular industry vertical (i.e. Financial Services, Manufacturing, etc.) and their key application portfolios (e.g. SAP, IOT, Microsoft, etc.). You are an expert in application architectures in the areas of Cloud, Mobility, and IOT and can apply this knowledge to a customer's internet working environment for the development of a Connectivity, Security, Visibility, and Automation suite of services journey roadmap. These industry roadmaps focus on the Verizon Business Group current portfolio of services as well as the emerging 5G, Edge Computing, and Real Time Enterprise services. You’ll be responsible for the refinement and scaled rollout of the Application Enablement messaging within the solution architecture community within your industry focus.
Presenting Application Enablement models and Industry Roadmaps to customer technology executives in Executive Briefing Center and related settings.
Enabling services for 5G, Intelligent Edge Networking, Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) and the Real Time Enterprise.
Sponsoring customers into the 5G Labs to drive innovation and ecosystems.
Supporting sales directors to engage on strategic opportunities.
Leading the development and training of industry specific application enablement messaging, roadmaps, and use cases.
Identifying opportunities for more effective solution support to field-based technical teams.
Monitoring projects and peer reviews to maximize sales results.
Accelerating strategic service solutions bundles.
Providing timely market information, drivers and customer feedback to our partner organizations for product and technology positioning and enhancements.
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Ten or more years of experience in a variety of disciplines related to the selling of Cloud, Systems Integration, IT and managed services solutions.
Experience in any of the following disciplines: cloud architecture and migrations, business applications systems integration, Managed Network Services / Security Solutions, Network Cloud & Virtualized Services including NFV and SDN, IT Applications Management / NetDev Ops, IT Service Management and ServiceNow environments, IOT Applications, and 4G and 5G wireless networking solutions.
Seven or more years in a customer facing role with accountability for end to end delivery (i.e. Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Service Delivery Architect).
Five or more years of architecture experience in conceptualization, definition and development of IT and/or application based products and service
Five or more years of experience delivering customer presentations and preparing customer-facing material such as RFP responses, proactive proposals and network/system designs.
Financial analysis experience (P&L, ROI, cost analysis, business case development, etc.).
Knowledge of hyperscaler cloud architectures and connectivity solutions.
Knowledge of software defined networking and network function virtualization technologies.
Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have
An MS or MBA.
Experience in TOGAF and/or ITIL standards for architecture and delivery.
Experience with Python, VB script and shell scripting,Artificial Intelligence, AGILE/SCRUM methodology, mobile development, or similar experience.
Experience in application architecture design and implementation services as a customer or systems integrator.
Experience in security issues concerning network infrastructure (i.e. CompTIA Security+, CISSP, SSCP, CRISC).
Experience as a Managed Services provider in the areas of applications, security or networking.
Sales or service experience with Agile, Mulesoft, Application Anywhere, VMWare, Oracle, SQL, Active Directory, Docker, Puppet, Python, Ruby, Java, Perl, Unix, or Linux.
Experience in cloud-based applications and virtualization (MCSE P&I, AWS CSA/CDE, VMware CMA, or equivalent).
