Lead Line Cook
Someone with a true passion and respect for food!
A Lead Line Cook at Checkers Bistro excels at cooking in this fast-paced, dynamic restaurant, while executing each dishes design with excellence and commitment.
Responsibilities
Have a knowledge base and experience in classic cooking techniques including, roasting, grilling, baking, frying, sautÃing and braising
Demonstrate proper knife skills and work space tidiness in a fast-paced environment
Ability to prepare food items according to prep sheets and standardized recipes with speed and consistency of quality
Strong communication skills to convey needs and complete each transaction in a professional manner
Maintain and ensure proper plate presentation and cleanliness for each dish
Stay up to date on menu changes for all items
Maintaining communication with FOH staff to ensure timely service to the guests
Have knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) standards
Requirements
Excellent emotional self awareness under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor
A high level of product and ingredient knowledge
Confidence in effectively communicating any inconsistencies to Chef, other Line Cooks and teammates
Experience in a position responsible for preparing and cooking plated food
Cook

A Cook at Checkers Bistro excels at working in this fast-paced, dynamic restaurant, while executing each dishes design with excellence and commitment.
Responsibilities
Have a knowledge base and desire to learn classic cooking techniques including, roasting, grilling, baking, frying, sautÃing, braising and salads, with a focus on cold food items, salads, dressings and desserts
Demonstrate proper knife skills and work space tidiness in a fast-paced environment
Maintain mental athleticism and coordination with other stations for proper timing of service
Strong communication skills to convey needs and complete each transaction in a professional manner
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Assist other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed
Have knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) standards
Requirements
Excellent emotional self awareness under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor
A basic level of product and ingredient knowledge specific to Checkers Bistro
Effectively communicate any inconsistencies to Sous Chefs and teammates
Experience in a position responsible for preparing and cooking plated food
