Elizabethtown College is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Technician to assist with Campus preservation, lawn maintenance and snow removal.
The individual will be required to work outside in varied weather conditions and be able to perform physical labor; such as raking, planting, snow shoveling, and litter removal.
The position will require operation of leaf blowers, mowers, snow blowers and grounds vehicles. The individual will be responsible for lawn mowing, assist with lawn maintenance applications, and perform equipment maintenance as part of the job.
Additional training will be provided to operate any unfamiliar machinery such as front end loaders, ride-on spreaders, forklifts, chippers and chainsaws, as needed.
Required Qualifications: High School diploma plus 3 years of grounds experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must acquire a pesticide applicator license within 6 months of hire.
This position requires a valid drivers license for business travel purposes (individual must have a US drivers license for at least three years; a motor vehicle record check will be run and the incumbent must pass the Colleges MVR rating system).
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in commercial turf maintenance or in a college campus environment, is preferred. Special consideration will be given to individuals holding a PA category 07 applicator license.
This is a full-time (12 month) position; Monday-Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm; occasional overtime associated with snow removal and event preparation.
