NSH is looking to fill a full time Psychiatrist Supervisor position. This position is responsible for ensuring that all patients are provided with up-to-date treatment interventions based on a Comprehensive Psycho/Social Evaluation.We offer a competitive salary along with Physician bonuses. 37.50 Hour Work Week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm with a 30 minute lunch period

DESCRIPTION OF WORKProvides leadership in developing treatment programs for each unit of the building. Offers consultation for difficult cases and attends periodically unit treatment teams to evaluate their functions and appropriateness. Makes sure that all necessary periodic assessment of patients, necessary lab work are done and filed in the patient's chart in a timely fashion. Discharge plans are followed in a timely fashion. Makes rounds in the building to insure that therapeutic environment is provided, building needs are reported and attended. Physician is part of the space utilization committee for the building to evaluate office space for building staff. Conducts building staff meetings to facilitate communication and problem solving. Supervises/provides psychiatric care of patients by: ensuring that hospital/departmental policies are observed; when necessary, requests psychiatric and medical consultations with specialists; through weekly psychiatric staff meetings ensures that proper treatment and discharge plans are followed; makes rounds and monitors active treatment. When needed, provides instructions, consultations and directions. Provides emergency and vacation time clinical coverage for staff psychiatrists and administrative coverage for other buildings when necessary. Provides evaluation and treatment for patients under his direct care.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQualifications:

PA Residency requirement waived for this job title

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Staff Psychiatrist; OROne year of experience in psychiatry or child psychiatry and completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a license topractice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issuedby the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or theState Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
