Summary:

The Quality Assurance Associate fills an essential role in the monitoring and advancement of our quality programs. This position ensures the integrity of our products through daily monitoring and process audits of our production. This position requires strong communication skills will all levels of our company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Audit and evaluate finished products, raw materials, packaging materials and labeling for accuracy and compliance.

Maintain quality systems documentation, create and update approved quality procedures and specifications.

Complete daily Quality Control documentation to assure conformance to specifications.

Monitor facility and associates for GMP and food safety compliance.

Perform internal GMP audits, oversee sanitation and product conformance, prepare and train product team for governmental and third-party audits.

Perform special project work as assigned by the Manager of Quality Assurance.

Monitor Pest Control program and consumer product complaints.

Inspect finished product to ensure they meet quality specifications, review any discrepancies with appropriate personnel before any corrective action is taken.

Monitor all Sanitation activities and verify cleanliness.

Create and update nutritional labels using Genesis software program as needed.

Make decisions concerning product quality, including shutting down line(s) when processes do not conform to specifications.

Interact with Department Lead Associates and line personnel to ensure quality standards are being achieved.

Modify daily production schedules with department manager in the event of quality deficiencies.

Ensure that safe practices are being followed at all times during the manufacturing process.

Maintain a positive, professional attitude and appearance at all times.

Required to possess and demonstrate a restless sense of urgency on the timeliness and quality of their work.

Must bring a positive attitude (can do and what can I do to help) to their job.

Bring a positive disposition and attitude when interacting with Ashers team members at all times.

Develop a proactive approach to creating a continuous improvement environment.

Qualifications:

Ability to read, write, and communicate English. High level of organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication, problem solving and commitment to company goals required.

Education:

Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience:

Needs to have acquired 1-3 years related experience and/ or training in a manufacturing environment. Equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

Must possess the knowledge and understanding of following good manufacturing principles.

Work Environment/ Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for an 8-hour shift. Must be able to regularly communicate by listening and speaking with others. Employees must frequently lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds whether physically or with the aid of material handling equipment.
