Position Description:
The Senior or Mid-Level Platform Engineer is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the configuration management operating platform (hardware and software), including the Microsoft SCCM system, Mobile Device Management, Active Directory Group Policy and other related technologies. This position is responsible for resolving routine and complex issues associated with the configuration management operating platforms and ensuring that it is available to the UPHS IS user community. Other responsibilities include:

Accountabilities
• Provides remote support to customers internally and externally as needed.
• Performs advanced remote troubleshooting and analysis of systems.
• Directs the analysis of technical products, systems and/or software being evaluated for use in the environment.
• Provides and recommends research and development services for prospective technologies.
• Performs centralized IS documentation and related communication functions.
• Answers customer questions and resolves issues.
• Refers issues/questions to appropriate personnel/manager for follow-up, testing and troubleshooting.
• Assists in instructing customers in the operation and maintenance of systems/equipment.
• Acts as a liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
• Performs remote analyses and prepares reports on system problem or performance trends and issues.
• Performs or updates inventories, knowledge repositories and document libraries as appropriate.
• Updates tickets and assignments according to established procedures.
• Follows all UPHS Corp IS established operating procedures and methodologies.
• Attends Change Control, Root Cause Analysis and Operational meetings as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:

Senior Platform Engineer:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or allied disciplines.
• Six or more years of experience working as an administrator of highly available computing systems
• Minimum of three years in a role with responsibility for the administration of desktop and configuration management capabilities (systems lifecycle management, asset lifecycle management, remote management, etc.).
• Desktop and Configuration Management certifications preferred.

Platform Engineer (Mid-Level):
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or allied disciplines.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience working as an administrator of highly available computing systems required.
• Minimum of three (3) years in a role with responsibility for the administration of multiple operating system platform and configuration management capabilities (systems lifecycle management, asset lifecycle management, remote management, etc) required.
• Desktop and Configuration Management certifications preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities:
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to constructively resolve issues and conflicts as they arise. Strong listening skills.
• Proven ability to analyze, trouble shoot and problem solve complex technical issues.
• Ability to work within deadlines and with multiple priorities; ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Orientation to teamwork and achievement of company and departmental goals.
• Excellent problem analysis skills and articulate communicator of complex technical topics.
