As part of the Total Rewards Innovation and Product team, the primary responsibility is to integrate our ecosystem of products and services into a cohesive system where data becomes the currently for optimizing employee experience and outcomes. This role will serve as an internal consultant and collaborate with leaders of the Employee Engagement and Research, Data Science, Product Growth, and Change Management groups, as well as other internal stakeholders and external partners to create products that maximum stakeholder value.SummaryThe Director, Product Architect’s main responsibility is to identify integration points between products and services as well as to democratize data to be leveraged across the ecosystem. The candidate should balance employee and business needs to determine whether opportunities exist to enhance existing products / services as well as to create new products in alignment with departmental and company goals that align products i.e. Total Compensation, Global Benefits and Total Health including operations, health care, disability, compensation, financial health, and retirement products. The Director, Product Architect works cross-functionally to identify opportunities, lead brainstorming activities, design new products and develop roadmaps. The ideal candidate possesses a balance of general business knowledge, ability to work with a diverse product portfolio, analytical acumen, and presentation skills.Core Responsibilities

Understand business needs, system requirements and create or partner with TPX to select the most appropriate architecture for the system.

Define requirements for responsive, resilient, elastic, and loosely coupled cloud platforms systems upon which world-class services can easily be built.

Work hands-on with teams to prove out new concepts and drive the execution of the target architectures.

Drive the evaluation of implementations to ensure the goals of the architecture have been met.

Work with vendors and review offerings and contracts in order to understand and balance factors such as intellectual property rights, physical locations, data availability, service level agreements, and service interruptions

Work with external consultants to review concepts and designs and to learn new patterns and techniques that can be leveraged across projects.

Defines and develops product roadmaps, prioritizing feature sets and innovation and aligning with the overall product strategy.

Collaborates and gathers feedback from key stakeholders, including Compensation, Benefit Operations, Global Benefits, International Benefits, the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, and Strategic Initiatives.

Utilizes a phase gated (agile) development framework to meet overall product quality, manufacturability, cost and time-to-market goals.

Develops and tracks data and key performance metrics to evaluate internal and external performance.

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Experience in mentoring software engineers

Technical awareness required in a majority of the following areas:

Object oriented analysis, design and service-oriented architecture.

Communications protocol design and theory.

Design and development of service APIs (entity, reference, transactional, etc.)

Design and development of distributed cloud-based modules that are testable and maintainable

Algorithm design and run-time analysis

Asynchronous programming techniques, including multi-threaded application design and development

Managing data collection, storage, retrieval, and analysis using RDBMS and/or NOSQL platforms

Fundamental understanding of software security principles and practices

Work ExperienceGenerally requires 10 years related experience. Preference given to candidates with experience in healthcare, financial health, employee benefits, or benefits consulting.General CharacteristicsPersuasive with excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills. Self-starter and inquisitive. Passionate product development enthusiast. Naturally receptive to direct feedback and constructive criticism. Thrives in collaborative team-oriented environments.Technical SkillsExperience with Software Development, Design and Systems Thinking is required. Experience with Agile Scrum is desired.Education LevelBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Product Design, Industrial Design or Software Engineering, Information Systems, Technology or related relevant fields.
