The specialist, with limited supervision, will be expected to collect and analyze data from the experiments and present the results at regularly scheduled lab meetings. Research includes: Drosophila genetics, Drosophila histological analysis, molecular biological analysis including PCR, cloning, preparation of constructs, RNA isolation, and prepping biological material. The research specialist will also be expected to assist with general lab maintenance including the generation and prepping of reagents; maintenance of Drosophila stocks; regular upkeep of laboratory equipment, documentation and processes to ensure regulatory compliance; and ordering supplies for the lab group. At times may be asked to assist with overseeing undergraduate research assistants. Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Biology or related field and 0-1 year of related experience in research methodologies, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required.

Familiarity with drosophila research preferred.
