Berger Montague PC, a nationally recognized leader in high stakes litigation, seeks to hire a dependable and committed person with well-developed research skills to help the firm explore new business opportunities. Researchers, writers, experienced paralegals, those considering law school, and others with high quality research backgrounds are all encouraged to apply.
Job duties will include:
⢠Reviewing new lawsuits filed in state and federal court, using criteria set by the firm to determine which cases are of interest
⢠Reviewing enforcement actions and new lawsuits undertaken by regulatory bodies, state attorneys general, and the United States Justice Department
⢠Reviewing publications and designated websites for new potential litigation opportunities
⢠Communicating information about new case filings, regulatory actions, and news items to designated individuals and practice groups within the firm
⢠Researching dockets and other information about pending cases on court litigation filing systems, including PACER and state court equivalents
A bachelor's degree with a strong research background, or a law degree, is required. Familiarity with Westlaw, PACER, state court docket systems is a plus, but not required. The firm is willing to train the right candidate on the use of these tools. Successful candidates will enjoy working in a collaborative environment that values diversity and inclusion. The position will be full time with benefits and will be located in downtown Philadelphia.
