Executive Virtual Assistant ($42/hr, part-time)

Vacancy expired!

Note: This is NOT an entry-level position. You must have at least 2 years experience as a personal assistant.

I'm looking for someone with strong personal and organization skills. You'll support me in juggling my day job as a scientist, evening job of growing a tutoring business, and my YouTube channel.

You should be comfortable handling both personal and business tasks. Learning my needs and optimizing my schedule will be a major part of this.

Personal tasks include finding a way to get healthy food to me and suggesting local events to attend. Business tasks include basic admin work and supporting efforts for getting clients and YouTube viewers.

The position is part-time and virtual. So even though I live in Malvern, you don't have to. We'll communicate via email, video, and phone. Most communication will be during 6-10 PM on weekdays and flexible on weekends. Hours start at 10/month with room to grow.

Here are some things about me: I like biology, reading, and lifting weights. My day job in biotech is getting busier, and I'm trying to grow a business and YouTube channel on the side. It would be great to optimize my energy so I can perform well all day. For example, there might be ways to improve my food, exercise, and sleep that I haven't thought of yet (or at least, haven't been able to implement yet). Staying on track with my goals might require optimizing my daily pattern, getting small tasks off my plate, and some kind of system to keep things on track. If you can already imagine how you'd fit in to this, then read on!

Below are some responsibilities and skills for this position, but please note they are not exhaustive.Responsibilities:

- Optimize my schedule to keep important projects moving forward

- Research the target audience and summarize results

- Coordinate with others if a task requires a physical person to be here

- Find an expert if a task requires specialized skills

- Arrange a system for healthy food to be brought to me (I'm a picky eater and don't like to cook)

- Provide a regularly updated list of local events I might likeSkills:

- Proficient with Google Apps

- Top-notch communication skills

- Ability- no, BURNING DESIRE- to turn messes into smoothly running systems

- (Optional) Experienced at producing visual design for marketing

- (Optional) Fluent at "speaking" the language of social media and the digital world

Those last two are optional. If you have those skills, please let me know. If not, don't worry about- I still want to know why you'd be an excellent assistant.

-TO APPLY:

Please reply with answers to the questions below.

1. Please tell me about yourself- professional background, skills, and support work.

2. Provide two examples of successfully achieving a goal at work with minimal assistance.

3. Imagine you're my assistant, and this happens: A parent calls and says their child (an AP Bio student) has a test tomorrow and needs help right away. This is a new person, not a past client. What would you do?

4. Imagine you're my assistant, and this happens: I'm feeling overwhelmed this week with making videos and teaching multiple tutoring sessions. Plus, I'm running out of food and can't find time to cook. What would you do?

If you are selected as a potential candidate, I will contact you for more information. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
