  • A role in architecture requires strong communication skills, as well as leadership and broad technical knowledge.
  • A good candidate will understand the concepts that makeup identity/identity concepts that cover both authentication and authorization. These apply on on-prem concepts like directories as well as cloud concepts such as ABAC. As an architect in the identity space, being able to enroll and explain how key concepts connect, like pieces of the puzzle is key.
  • From there, being able to take each piece and tie it to the underlying technology ensuring that stakeholders understand what an overall strategy would be, as well as the work/integrations that are required to accomplish those business outcomes.
  • The same individual will work with a number of technical teams to layout the architecture/integrations that are necessary as the organization matures. This includes on-prem, hybrid, and cloud identity and especially the relation to "Zero-trust" or "Adaptive-trust" which are well understood within the industry.
  • A key part of the identity space is that of Identity, Governance, and attestation (IGA). This is the creation, dispositioning, and changes around an identity and the certification that the access is appropriate to the user and take into account the context in which the access is granted.

Key terms that would show an understanding of these technologies would include: SAML, LDAPS, SCIM, Replication, mTLS, Kerberos, token, OIDC, Grants, Claims, oAuth

When it comes to MUST HAVE SKILLS:
  • Broad Technical Knowledge of technologies (comes with experience), and RELEVANT experience with hybrid and cloud architecture
  • Azure DevOps
  • IGA - industry term
  • SCIM/oAuth/LDAP/SAML
  • FIDO

Degrees/Certifications/Years of Overall Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's (software engineering, computer science, and/or related field)
  • HS Diploma is OK w/CISSP
  • 8+ yrs of work exp.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Understanding and working with technology teams
  • Create and update enterprise adoption of technologies
  • Identifying strategies around future state of architectures
