Description
Robert Half has a client that is seeking a skilled and dedicated Data Engineering Lead to join our Engineering team. As the Data Engineering Lead you will be responsible for designing and implementing high throughput data pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and ETL processes. In order to do this job well, you must be obsessed with quality, efficiency, and love working with diverse technologies. You have a strong understanding of Data Engineering principles, automation, and software development. You must also have strong interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally across internal teams as well as directly with end-users and Govini platform SMEs.
This is a permanent team member position, working a hybrid remote/in-office schedule in our Pittsburgh, PA office.
Scope of Responsibilities: Lead Data Engineering initiatives from ideation through implementation as well as the day to day of a small team of Data engineers Lead Agile ceremonies for the Data engineering team, balancing roadmap improvements and feature work Implement streaming data pipelines including data modeling and transforming the data within the data warehouse to optimize for application consumption Develop frameworks, standards, and best practices for data modeling, and ETL pipelines Track and measure KPIs such as data freshness and data quality
Requirements
Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship is required
Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent experience 3+ years of programmatically transforming data Experience implementing streaming data pipelines Experience with data modeling Experience with AWS' Aurora Postgres Proficient in SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions Proficient in Java and Hibernate Requires strong analytical ability and attention to detail Ability to work independently with little supervision
Desired Skills: Experience working with Kubernetes Knowledge of design patterns in the Cloud and Building Well-Architected Solutions Experience Kafka Working knowledge with large (multiple terabytes) amounts of data We firmly believe that past performance is the best indicator of future performance.
