Join usas we provide Life Changing Medicine to our community.Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC is currentlyhiring a Full-Time Professional Staff Nurse to support the Antepartum Unit(2800) at our Oakland location. 2800 is a 28-bed high risk antepartum unit witha welcoming staff and a teamwork-focused environment. Our work includesnon-stress tests, stent and cerclage placements, and wound debridement; we partnerclosely with the physician team to care for high risk pregnancies, pretermlabor, C-sections, and methadone conversions, as well as delivered patientswith infants admitted to the NICU and fetal demise mothers. Due to the natureof the unit, our patients can experience very high highs and very low lows, andare in need of uniquely compassionate attention and care; staff on 2800 must beempathic and stout of heart. Our RNs work a rotating schedule to ensure 24/7coverage on the floor.As a nurse at UPMC,

Staff Nurse is a valued step in the UPMC nursing career ladder, with

and salary will be determined based upon education and nursing experience. Six

months experience is required for Professional Staff Nurses.Responsibilities:

Applies thenursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to createa healing environment. Formulates daily goals and a plan of care forpatients that involves the patient as partner and considers the individualneeds of the patient in a holistic manner.

Demonstratescritical thinking in the identification of clinical, social, safety,psychological, and spiritual issues for the patient within an episode ofcare.

Practices solidcommunication skills, and is able to articulate and translate thepatient's condition to other care providers and to negotiate and makerecommendations for changes in patient care and unit practices. Patientdocumentation is comprehensive and promotes communication betweencaregivers.

Creates a caringand compassionate patient-focused experience by building healingrelationships with patients, families, and colleagues.

Incorporatesnational professional organization as well as business unit and healthsystem goals to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.

Qualifications

Minimum 6 months experience required for Professional Staff Nurse level, but we will also consider Graduate Nurses.

BSN preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

UPMC approved national certification preferred.

Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse.

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal

Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal

Act 73 FBI Clearance

Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
