Maintain and support the Teradata DBMS environment version 15 or above
Highly proficient in all Teradata tools and utilities such as Mload, BTEQ, TPump, Viewpoint as well as SQL
3+ years’ experience as a Teradata Database Administrator (user/database creation, DDL, access rights)
Experience with the Linux/Unix OS and shell scripting
Serve as the focal point for user inquiries regarding the Teradata DBMS use and capabilities
Work closely with internal customers, IT staff, vendors, and consultants to coordinate plans and activities for enhancements and migration projects for data/database products
Provide reports on database management systems performance
Identify, manage, and act upon database alerts and performance issues, and deliver to optimal performance resolution
Work with Teradata support and AE security to insure that all database software is operating effectively and is on the latest patch levels
Enforce technical service level and security standards for data and databases, including backup and recovery procedures utilizing TARA and netbackup.
Monitor service level agreements and overall quality of deliverables.
Provide "on call" and off hours support for production technology infrastructure when assigned.
