At Pastries a la carte, the quality of art represented on our products is what we pride ourselves in and it’s what we are well known for throughout the Pittsburgh area – after all, we are the official bake shop for the Pittsburgh Penguins!
As a fast growing, high end bakery, we are seeking front end sales associates. The key aspects of these positions are:
Serve as the face and voice of Pastries a la Carte – engaging with customers in the store or via telephone and assisting them in their selection and purchase from our variety of our cake, cookies, pastries offerings
Educating customers as to our variety of cakes, cookies and pastries
Maintaining a professional demeanor
Maintaining a clean work environment, maintaining fully stocked shelves, processing customer orders
Being able to work on one’s feet and in a fast-paced environment
We are seeking people for full-time and part-time positions.
Full-time: closing shifts
Part-time early mornings: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM (20 + hours per week)
Part-time flexible hours (15 + hours per week)
Key requirements of the position include:
Enthusiasm to engage with customers, educate them and sell the many bakery products
Strong memory recall to learn and recall the products and features
Able to stand and work on one’s feet for workday.
Adherence to food safety and hygiene requirements
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Sales and or bakery experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train if you are willing to learn. High school, college students and retirees are encouraged to apply.
We are located on Rt. 51 in Pleasant Hills and are on the bus lines (Y-46 Elizabeth flyer).
