We have a retail position available at our non-profit office in Homestead, cashiering literature and merchandise. We are looking for a person that enjoys working with the public in a polite and friendly manner. You will be primarily responsible for running and maintaining the merchandise shop located in the storefront of the Tri-State Regional Service Office.

You would work Saturdays and Sundays, 9:30 am - 4:00 pm, generally every other weekend. We may ask you to switch up weekends for one month or alternately you could switch to another weekend if you needed to.

You have to be able to handle a 30 pound box of books on occasion. You also have to be able to run a cash register.

Duties include:

Filling merchandise orders from walk-in, mail-in and emailed orders. Print receipts/deposits and keep incoming funds accountable.

Mail out orders to our in-house accounts. All mail orders must be filled and mailed out within one week of being received.

File receipts and deposits in designated areas.

Balance drawer at the end of each shift and print deposit slip. Drop deposit in safe.

Keep event flyers on table current (printing out flyers received via email) and maintain a good reserve of copies.

Restock merchandise from supply room as certain items are depleted (i.e., books, key tags and pamphlets). Notify Board of Directors of any items that are out of stock.

Check messages on answering machine. Notify Board of Directors of important calls. Take addresses and mail out meeting lists to people who request them.

Check supplies (pens, bags, toilet paper, copy paper, etc.) and request replacements as needed.

Keep office tidy. Organize all out-of-place items, keep surfaces clean, sweep and empty trash as necessary. After snowfall, shovel and salt front walk in compliance with City of Pittsburgh statutes.

Open the conference room for varied meetings throughout the month, and facilitate any requests that committee members may have.

Make sure orders are filled out in a timely fashion, while maintaining a good relationship with customers.
