University Store Sales Consultants work as part of a team to provide high level customer service to our community. You will assist customers in finding merchandise, handle the transaction at the point-of-sale, and answer questions about the store, campus, and local area. You will also provide leadership to the student employees.

Carnegie Mellon Universitys department of Facilities Management and Campus Services is searching for a Sales Consultant within the University store. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing extraordinary customer service in the store and during special events.

Your core responsibilities will include:

- Customer service, including: assisting with selection and making recommendations to the customers; ringing the sale/return on the cash register, credit card or Campus Express machines; monitoring customer flow and store activities; packaging merchandise and/or gift wrapping, etc.

- Troubleshoots problems and questions on the sales floor; answers all routine as well as most difficult or unusual questions, able to correct most problems directly; refers only the most difficult issues and questions to the supervisor.

- Assists with the semi-annual inventories.

- Provide order support for departments and individuals

- Some evening and weekend hours required.

- Other duties as assigned.

You should have a strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and a team-oriented approach. Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within the University Store. Qualifications:

- Minimum education - High School or GED

- 1-3 years of retail customer service experience

- Strong knowledge of MBS POS system preferred.

- Excellent oral and written Communication Skills

- Knowledge of PC and Apple laptops, desktops, tablets, and peripheral devices preferred.

- Knowledge regarding and ability to sell the following products preferred:

headphones & audio devices

computer adapters

keyboards and mice

external storage
