P.J. DICK INCORPORATED, a leading building construction services company is looking for Commercial Building Construction Concrete Laborer Foreman to join its Operations team to supervise projects in the Pittsburgh region.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily work required for the placement of concrete for commercial building construction projects.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Supervise the placing and finishing crews required to complete concrete placement of walls, foundations, large slab on grade and Slab on deck pours.

Understand and review contract plans to set up and schedule crews, equipment and material prior to start and during project.

Cleaning and maintenance of concrete placing and finishing equipment.

Proper vibration of concrete.

Document labor and equipment hours and daily production rates, quantities, and material.

Estimate and order concrete material.

Coordinate with finishing foreman on the most economical use of concrete add mixtures.

Schedule and set up concrete pump and line in coordination with finishing foreman.

Supervise the protection and curing of the finished concrete.

Willingness to work different shifts and start times.

Willingness to work overtime as required for the projectSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Educational and experience requirements include: High School Diploma or Equivalent. A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Lead Foreman for concrete placement in the commercial building construction trades. Must be able to evaluate information using measurable standards and have a basic competency in math, geometry, volumes and weights. Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with co-workers and work with others in positive manner. Ability to read safety rules and instructions in the use and maintenance of equipment and tools. Ability to recognize and use hand signals for cranes and other equipment. Must be able to follow specific instructions. Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures. Always work harmoniously and cooperatively with others.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Considerable time spent standing; Job requires wearing common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hard hats; Considerable time spent using hands to handle control or feel objects, tools or controls. Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently required to talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Vision abilities required include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions; extreme cold and heat, wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high and/or precarious places; exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration; loud working environment
