Salary: $14 - $16/hr
Position Overview: The Material Handler does not need any industry experience. This is a summer opportunity, preferably for a student looking for summer employment. This will be a very hands-on role and good experience to learn about the production process in a highly regulated environment. The Material Handler will work day, afternoon or overnight shift and will have to strictly follow safety protocol.
Responsibilities of the Material Handler, Summer Project:
Be part of a highly regulated Production Team and be able to perform job duties independently once trained
Work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift- Monday - Friday (will be assigned to one shift for the whole summer)
Use various machines and equipment to contribute to the production process including: forklift, drum lifts, pallet jacks, stages
Utilize the computer/software system in house to process and execute tasks
Use robots and machines to move heavy drums and containers
Transfer materials or samples from one vessel to another
Cycle counting and inventory checks as needed
Review or update related paperwork and documentation
Qualifications for the Material Handler, Summer Project:
Ability to read and write English and clearly communicate with team members
Ability to commit to the role of Material Handler, Summer Project through the end of August
Comfortable with operating heavy machinery including forklift, hi-low, hand truck and pallet jack
Able to follow safety protocol, handle hazardous materials and adhere to regulatory guidelines
Able to use basic computer systems, knowledge of SAP a plus
Ability to move heavy objects including but not limited to 55 gallon drums, but heavy lifting will be kept to a minimum as much as possible for safety reasons
Ability to work in the US for any employer and pass a medical/physical pre-employment screening
Ability to provide professional references of previous employers
Personable and professional communication skills
Education Requirements:
GED or High School Diploma required
Benefits: Would not be available for this role based on the length of the assignment (3-4 months)
