About the Department:Share the excitement of being on the inaugural RN team as we open our new 16 bed acute care Pediatric Emergency Department in early 2019 at Reading Hospital- Tower Health. Partnering with pediatric emergency medicine physicians, you will care for children with all levels of illness and traumatic injuries. Our new ED will have full support services, including inpatient Pediatric and NICU (pediatric hospitalists and neonatologists), as well as in department radiology, laboratory, respiratory, pharmacy and chaplaincy services.Why Reading Hospital?

Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care.
Assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

An Associate Degree from an accredited school of Nursing
Current Pennsylvania RN licensure
Current BLS Certification
At least 18 months of previous RN experience, preferably in an Emergency Room setting
