Job Descriptions:The Day Program Services Instructor coordinates all programming for residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities who attend the Adult Training Facility daily on our Sewickley Campus. They also supervise and train the Direct Support Professionals and Adult Training Professionals who are assisting residents. The following is a list, not all-inclusive, of duties the Program Services Instructor is responsible for:
Provides orientation to new staff, and participates in the training and evaluation of assigned staff
Evaluates Individuals in the affective/social, cognitive, and vocational developmental areas to determine their strengths, as well as areas of programmatic needs
Develops and implements a program for assigned Individuals to enable them to maximize their skill development
Coordinates the programming plans to include cross-over goals from the residential setting in the skill areas of mealtime, communication, and toileting
Participates in the Interdisciplinary Team Process by conducting assessments, preparing written summaries for team reviews and annuals, and attending all team meetings
Develops a program schedule for the Individuals to maximize skill development; ensures community outings are regularly scheduled
Coordinates the training of direct service workers in the content of health and Safety needs relevant to each individual.
Initiates disciplinary procedures for staff as required.
Is responsible for developing and implementing provider services as required under ยง2380.188 (relating to Provider Services).

Required Experience:
Must possess knowledge of current practices in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and thorough understanding of education/training principles.
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
Possess ability to establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with all fellow employees and supervisory staff, promoting a team concept.
Must demonstrate leadership and organizational skills.
Minimum Experience and Training
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in Education or related field with a minimum of two years of work experience, or a Master's Degree with minimum one year of experience, in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, preferably for individuals with severe and/or profound disabilities.
Must successfully complete a physical, drug screen, and TB test, and all required clearances
Must maintain valid driver's license
Physical RequirementsThis position requires sitting, standing, walking and driving. The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and bend, stoop and reach as needed. Ability to see, hear, speak and write is required.Keyword: Program Services SupervisorFrom: Verland Foundation
