Job DescriptionPosition Summary: Oversees the workflow and performance of a team responsible for the following accounting related duties: posting of daily cash receipts on directly billed policies, researching and resolving cash posting discrepancies, ensuring timely and accurate refunds to policyholders, agents and brokers, servicing customer inquiries and providing a high level of customer serviceEssential Functions:

Coach and develop team members, maintain attendance records and serve as a job specific resource

Participates in performance and compensation reviews, development planning, recruiting and interviewing

Reviews and posts direct bill cash to the accounting system

a. Reviews overpayments daily to confirm refund accuracy

b. Assists in direct bill online decisioning process through the M&T Bank website

c. Verifies that the team has issued bimonthly refunds to insureds and bimonthly commission/fee payments to customers

d. Balances cash by coordinating open items in both the accounts receivable and accounts payable subsystems

Supervises the resolution of payment discrepancies daily

a. Contact underwriting teams for appropriate endorsement issuance or correct our billing through the data entry team

b. Contact policyholders for replacement funds on payments returned by the bank

Oversees the over 45-day direct bill report to ensure accuracy of a balance being moved into further collections proceedings.

Ensures that the team responds to voicemail and email messages the same day they are received. If a resolution is not possible, provides the customer with a resolution timeline.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists with various annual statement responsibilities as needed

Covers for other accounts receivable leaders in their absence

Minimum Job Requirements:Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent business experienceExperience: Minimum of 5 years business experience inclusive of some people leadership responsibilities. Property/Casualty insurance experience and general understanding of accounting preferredSpecific Skills: Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, Quickbooks, problem-solving skills, oral and written communication skills, organized and detail-orientedLocation: Wayne, PATeam: AccountingJob Type: AccountingFT/PT Status: Full Time
