Job DescriptionUSLI is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team and contribute their subject matter expertise in subrogation for the handling of a diverse caseload of Property and Casualty claims. This individual must be proactive and able to handle a large caseload.Essential functions include: Identify, evaluate, analyze and manage the prosecution of subrogation claims against responsible third parties countrywide. Draft comprehensive notification, preservation and demand letters. Perform legal research. Consult with liability experts. Pursue subrogation to collection or closing. Proactively negotiate settlement of subrogation claims within evaluation and designated authority level. Set up installment agreements and promissory notes with timely follow up calls when payments are missed. Filing and responding to arbitrations within statute timeframe. Keep insureds informed of recovery efforts. Reimburse deductible when appropriate. Assign files to attorneys when necessary and to protect statutes. Provide oversight of outside subrogation independent adjusters, experts and counsel, including the supervision of subrogation litigation. Hire collection agencies to pursue meritorious subrogation claims. Process and pay expense invoices in a timely manner and within designated authority level. Keep abreast of subrogation case law, trends and experience and prepare summaries for dissemination of information within the company on cases and trends. Develop and present training programs to internal claims departments on subrogation matters. Travel as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Special Projects: Complete special projects assigned by leadership.

Continuing Education: Attend educational seminars and conferences. Enroll and complete continuing education programs for both professional and personal development as outlined in annual Training and Development Plan.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Juris Doctorate with subrogation experience in private practice and/or with an insurance company or a Certified Subrogation Recovery Professional.Experience:Minimum of four years of subrogation experience in property claims at a law firm and/or an insurance company.Specific Skills:

Strong organizational skills

Conversance with interpretation and application of leases, vendor agreements, construction agreements etc.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a task oriented environment

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
