Join the family and experience the stability and satisfaction of a career with Asplundh.Position Title: Senior AccountantPosition Summary:The Senior Accountant provides financial support by ensuring proper accounting for the overheads and fixed assets by resolving discrepancies according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely and accurate manner. They are responsible for researching and resolving overheads and fixed assets discrepancies, maintaining the fixed assets management system, and preparing accounting reports. The position reports directly to the Manager of Overheads and Fixed Assets.Principal Responsibilities:

Utilizes an asset management system to analyze, classify, and verify all fixed assets using established accounting principles, policies, and procedures.

Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing accounting information and trends. Complete monthly and year-end fixed asset roll forward. Books fixed asset related journal entries as needed.

Documents financial transactions by entering account information and uses relevant information to build and present complex financial reports and records.

Performs reconciliation of detailed fixed asset schedules with balance sheet accounts ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Supports and assists year-end accounting audits while partnering with external auditors to assemble relevant reports and documentation.

Supports and assists managers/supervisors and performs other duties as assigned. Fields and answers questions about fixed asset accounting.

Carefully follows established policy framework to resolve problems.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.

3-5 years of accounting experience with basic knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards and compliance requirements

Must have basic computer skills, with demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, vlookups, formulas, etc. and intermediate skills in word-processing required.

Experience with PeopleSoft Financial is a plus.

Must have good math aptitude, with the ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.

Skills & Abilities Qualifications:

Excellent customer service and professional interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively listen, write, proof-read, and follow-up with all levels of internal and external customers.

Ability to demonstrate common sense, sound judgement and analytical skills with minimum direction to resolve problems or discrepancies within the essential job functions.

Willingness to work both independently and as an effective team member with a diverse group of people.

High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and decision-making ability with the capacity to effectively perform in a fast-paced environment.

Detail-oriented with excellent time-management, prioritization and organizational skill.
