RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an IT Hospitality Systems Engineer in Cranston, RI.
Summary:
The successful candidate will work on multiple IT implementation projects centered around Windows Server, Microsoft 365, basic L2/L3 networking, and firewall configuration. Typical projects include Network Infrastructure builds/redesign; AD upgrades/migrations/mergers; ISP changes; virtualization; application server upgrades.
Responsibilities:
IT Hospitality Systems Engineer estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals; Develops, maintains, and manages project plans and associated communications documents; Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions and work with developers to implement those fixes; Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
Conducting network assessment audits; Creating and following written documents, step-by-step procedures for an unfamiliar technology; Mentor and train other employees
Technical Responsibilities:
Office 365 migrations: Building and maintaining Microsoft-centric LAN environments from the ground up, including associated needs such as DNS, DHCP, ISP management, backups, etc.; Configuring multiple firewalls (SonicWALL, Cisco) from scratch, based on business needs and security best practices; Evaluate information security systems against specified security requirements; documents deficiencies and recommends changes; Independently identify and recommend changes in certification documentation (including risk assessment, systems, security plans, disaster recovery plans, etc.)
As an IT Hospitality Systems Engineer, you will design, install, and configure the network environment to support data storage; Provide services and applications; provide access to authorized users, and maintain currency of the system
REQUIREMENTS:
Associates degree in an IT field
Advanced certifications:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
4 - 6 years of experience working on IT implementation projects for small to mid-sized businesses
Background in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or Science or equivalent experience
Ability to travel (25-50%)
Ability to work flexible days/hours - some on-call duty
Previous experience Hotel or Resort:
Experience with Hospitality Systems, Including PMS, PMS interfacing, Room Keys, HSIA, digital signage, etc.
Experience with Point-of-Sale Systems
Knowing PCI is a plus but not required
Network& Server:
Experience with the following manufacturers networking equipment, including HP, Cisco, SonicWALL, Ruckus
Experience with WAN/LAN Network Engineering and Operations
Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices
