POSITION OVERVIEW
We have an opening for a QA/QC Engineer. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for engineering and industrial control systems, who requires minimal supervision, with an acute attention to detail. This position works in the engineering department, and alongside production staff in order to ensure and improve the quality of all CSS products.
Job Duties:
  • Develop test strategies and test plans to verify standards, compatibility, functionality, performance and reliability of industrial control panels and sub-assemblies.

Validate proper design and operations of product features as defined by specifications and design drawings packages.
, Perform full power 480/277VAC, 240VAC, 208/120VAC, 240/120VAC, 24VDC performance tests of full control panels and systems, including but not limited to: Disconnects, Breakers, Contactors, VFDs, Soft Starts, PLC & HMI controls, Relays, Timers etc.
  • Work from prints, diagrams, schematics, specifications, instructions, operations manuals, and manufacturer's manuals and specifications, to perform tests and setup of all control panel equipment.
  • Troubleshoot controls/functional issues including electrical, wiring, calibration, mechanical, and/or general manufacturing to prepare and implement a corrective action plan.
  • Report and track defects found during testing. Record test data, technical information and other details. Generate and revise test documents and reports (SOP's, datasheets, methods, etc.).
  • Participate in and promote process improvements with production and design engineering staff.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous testing efforts, delivering timely and reliable results.
  • Safely use tools appropriate to a given task (voltage-rated and standard hand tools; power tools; electrical testing and monitoring equipment; fabrication equipment); assure quality of work through use of precision calibration equipment and procedures. Work safely at all times, and perform necessary housekeeping. Keep personal safety and that of others always as the first goal.
  • Contribute multi-craft skills as required to assist in or complete assigned QA/QC and engineering tasks to meet needs.
  • Create, edit, and contribute to our library of Production As-Built drawings and build instructions.

Required Skills:
  • Extremely detail oriented concerning the test setup, methods, protocol, and results, demonstrating ownership and urgency throughout the testing process Process control commissioning and troubleshooting

VFD setup, integration, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC circuits
  • 0-1 OVDC and 4-20mA loop knowledge and troubleshooting
  • Ability to set up, calibrate and troubleshoot pressure, temperature, flow meters
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and panel diagrams, single line diagrams,

P&lDs, and conduit and wire schedules
  • Basic working knowledge of the following:
  • PLC: IDEC, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Automation Direct o HMI: Exor, Eaton, Panelview, Automation Direct o Control networks (IP and Modbus) and SCADA systems
  • Ability to utilize CAD software for creating and modifying schematics and drawings Self-motivated and the ability to work independently

  • Excellent communication skills, to support the ability to relay complex industry, engineering, and technical information in a clear, concise, and understandable manner, interact professional in all situations with internal teams/team members and external client teams and prospects.

Education & Experience:
  • AS or BS degree in an Electric Engineering field preferred but not required.
  • 05+ Years working in an Industrial Controls capacity.
  • MUST have Strong working knowledge of UL 508A and NEC Standards.
  • Experience evaluating products in accordance with product regulatory standards Experience using automated test tools.
  • Experience testing to NEC, ULI CSA, NFPA, IEC, EN Standards preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD software
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of products, Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
