Director, Payment Service Operations

Description:
Direct Hire. Remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Scale, manage, and optimize payments risk operations and servicing model consistent with product strategy and customer expectations
  • Ensure service operation requirements, cashless payment team, and third-party roles are clearly defined, documented, tested, and implemented
  • Implement, analyze, and optimize payments and risk service levels, quality, cost, and KPIs
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to optimize customer experience and authorization rates and prevent/reduce losses
  • Develop reporting and reconciliation solutions across payments systems and platforms
  • Constantly evaluate internal process controls to identify payment operations weaknesses and any associated risks
  • Stay abreast of industry and local regulations to analyze impact and adapt/create operational processes to ensure compliance
  • Support any RFP’s or customer contractual negotiations in terms of service, support, and costing/pricing as it relates to payments and risk
  • Support customer implementations and ongoing operations by working closely with KYC, payment vendors, and front-line teams to quickly resolve issues
  • Provide consistent customer service by providing payment operational support to customers assuming responsibility for operational payment issue resolution
  • Recruit and maintain a highly skilled and engaged team by developing talent, coaching, training performance monitoring and performance evaluations
  • Other duties as required


Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in Finance or related field with at least 4 years of related experience; at least 8 years of related experience considered in lieu of a degree
  • At least 5 years of experience managing resources in the payments and/or risk areas
  • In depth working knowledge of the financial industry, card processing, card networks, and operations
  • Familiarity with payment back-office functions, including Wire and ACH processing
  • Strong leadership skills, including decision-making and conflict resolution
  • Ability to ensure compliance controls and interpret regulatory requirements
  • Strong presentation and written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience implementing process change and improvements
  • Ability to multitask
