J.H. Breakell & Co. is a 46-year-old silver and goldsmithing company. We are an omni channel retailer with a store in historic Newport, Rhode Island, an e-commerce website and a national mail order catalog. All our merchandise is designed and handcrafted in our studio in Newport by our talented silversmiths.
Job Brief
We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to oversee the daily operations of our retail jewelry store. You will ensure smooth day to day operations and manage our store in ways that boost revenues and develop the overall business. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit who can work independently as well as take direction and complete tasks assigned to them. You will serve as our brand ambassador. In addition to managing the store, you will help to maintain our ecommerce website and execute our marketing goals and help bring the brand to the next level.
Responsibilities
Organize all store operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel.
Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance.
Prepare and control the storeâs budget aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency.
Maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
Inspect the areas in the store and resolve any issues that might arise
Maintain daily sales history, and customer traffic data.
Analyze sales and revenue reports and make forecasts
Monitor stock levels and purchases and ensure they are matched to sales forecasts and minimum inventories.
Maintain inventory data and execute periodic physical inventories.
Deal with unresolved customer issues to maintain the brand reputation
Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers.
Take customers phone orders and assist in helping them navigate our website.
Plan and oversee in-store promotional events and create retail displays that reinforces brand image and enhances products.
Coordinate merchandising, sales promotions and clearance sales.
Coordinate print advertising campaigns.
Write Social Media posts for FB and Instagram and maintain monthly blog.
Upload photos on ecommerce site, write descriptions, and add other relevant product data.
Process and ship ecommerce orders
Requirements
Proven experience as a retail manager or in other managerial position
Knowledge of jewelry desired
Knowledge of retail management best practices
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Excellent organizing and leadership skills
Must but be able to take direction and finish tasks accurately and meet deadlines.
Creative spirit who can work independently.
Knowledge of retail POS software
Strong computer skills.
Basic Photoshop and Illustrator skills a plus.
