Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate and communicate within the matrixed organizational structure.
  • Oversee the day to day operational support for the service including:
    • Maintain, update and assist with changes within the company's Disaster Recovery Management program.
    • Provide guidance and recommendations with the appropriate technology groups for new or changing projects that may directly impact the current disaster recovery strategy.
    • Perform infrastructure recovery capacity planning with key IT technology groups in support of specific business unit's current, planned and new initiatives.
    • Assist with improving information technology disaster recovery processes through knowledge and incorporating best practices from internal and external sources.
    • Assist with the execution of IT disaster recovery exercises including tabletop, operational and integrated exercises with business continuity.
    • Assist with the execution of the disaster recovery strategy or plan due to a service interruption or disaster, in coordination with the Business Continuity manager, Application Owners, and Service Owners.
    • Assist with event impact assessment and IT disaster declaration activities as required.
    • Provide training and guidance for subject matter experts on Disaster recovery tools, templates and methodologies for plan development.
    • Validate all critical information is maintained and up to date.
  • Create and drive the short and long term application strategy while aligning with cross functional partners including:
    • Relationship manager with business partners and service consumers. This includes understanding long term business direction as well as how the production service is meeting business needs.
    • Awareness of and driving to new technology, tools, upgrades and overall direction.
    • Proactive about developing, encouraging, and implementing continuous process improvements.
    • Aligning with the Tech Strategy Office to ensure direction works with the overall technical strategy.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 7 years' experience managing/coordinating projects and/or teams, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience within Information Technology DR management planning and program initiatives.
  • Proven previous experience recovering a company from an interruption and/or major disaster.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills at all levels.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and proactive in following-up.
  • Highly adaptable, with a continuous improvement mindset and an ability to support and drive change.
  • Industry certification(s) CBCP, MBCP from DRII, MBCI FBCI from BCI or equivalent.
