Position Summary The Janitor will be responsible for keeping the facility in a clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, as well as routine maintenance activities, and notifying management of need for repairs. The Janitor reports directly to the Membership Manager. Responsibilities Gather and empty trash Service, clean, and supply restrooms Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, steam cleaning, or shampooing Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees Sanitize and polish furniture, fixtures, walls, and equipment Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties Professional Skills Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners Excellent time-management, organization, and communication skills Knowledge, Abilities, & Character Traits Customer and Personal Service / Active Listening / Near Vision / Oral Comprehension / Static Strength / Trunk Strength / Extent Flexibility / Independence / Dependability / Attention to Detail / Integrity / Self-Control Qualifications Education: High school diploma. The lack of a diploma may be compensated with additional experience. Schedule: 18 - 21 hours scheduled within seven (7) consecutive days (Monday – Sunday). Working hours are scheduled according to the needs of the department and the company. Compensation Wages: $10.00/hour payable, in semi-monthly installments.
