Zero George Street Hotel, Charleston's premiere boutique hotel, seeks a personable Night Audit to join our front office team.

The Night Audit's primary responsibility is to interact with guests in a respectful, cheerful, and polite manner and to effectively service all guests' needs as well as to balance "end of day" in accordance with night audit checklist and accounting procedures. In addition to running the audit and accounting reports, the position of Night Audit is responsible for helping the breakfast attendant set up breakfast and get the cafe prepared for the guests by 7am.

Shifts are 11pm to 7am.

Essential Functions:

-Must have knowledge and understanding of all front desk associate job requirements.

-Record messages for next shift (7am-3pm) and management, especially guest related issues and early morning call outs.

-Communicate with housekeeping and front desk of any no-shows, room moves, early check-outs, etc.

-Balancing of daily postings and revenue in system.

-Timely and accurate preparation and distribution of daily reports by email.

-Expeditious and diplomatic resolution of guest issues.

-Full knowledge of all emergency procedures (fire, safety, disaster, etc.)

-Security checks of all buildings are done routinely throughout the night.

-Sweep courtyard, and wipe down stairs and banisters and windowsills' on all buildings.

-Blow out all candles, lanterns both outside and inside buildings.

-Check candles, trim wicks, and adjust ribbon around candles as needed.

-Water all plants inside and hanging by arrival door.

-Do "bucket check," checking registration cards for any arrivals left with specific instructions etc. and all in-house registration cards to be familiar with who is where.

-Check in any late arrivals: verify card on file if using that one and click check in or add credit card for incidentals if reservation is a third party (Expedia, Orbitz, etc.). Post parking if applicable, get automobile information and signature.

-Before taking guests to their room give them a tour of property, explaining meal times, if they so choose.

-Help guests with luggage from the loading zone and walk them to their room.

-When in room, give orientation to include: Armoire with Nespresso, minibar, iron, hairdryer, safe, etc. -Point out booklet on desk with wifi password and other instructions, TV channel listing, AC controls and locking mechanism for the doors (manual, do not lock automatically)

-Must be comfortable Valeting Cars (ability to drive Manual is a plus).

-Answer incoming calls within 3 rings with appropriate greeting.

-Set wake up calls as requested.

-Run night audit reports.

-Take out trash from front desk, kitchen, and half bath

-Move trash cans to curb Mon/Wed/Fri AM

-Print out registration cards for next day's arrivals. Check to make sure they are correct (taxes, etc).

-Package turndown treats and welcome treats, as needed, for the 7am-3pm and 3-11pm shifts to distribute accordingly.

-Put together the personalized Welcome Folders for incoming guests.

-Thoroughly clean the Miele machine (Coffee Machine). Check for descaling each night and descale as needed.

-Receive deliveries of newspapers, pastries, etc.

-Throw away all old newspapers when replacing with new.

At 5 A.M.

-Pull items needed from shed and walk in for breakfast set up

-Set up breakfast and the cafe every morning in adherence to food safe policies and Chef's orders. -Help the breakfast attendant make sure that breakfast is ready for guests to dine at 7am.

-Adjust lighting and turn on music.

-Write down inventory of breakfast items put out.

-Service Miele machine according to manual.

-After breakfast set up, clean breakfast tables, sweep courtyard, and wipe down stairs and banisters and windowsills' on all buildings.

End of Shift

-Relay any issues and/or information to 7am shift. Walk through property to ensure quality of all details.
