LONG ISLAND CAFE IS OPENING A NEW VENTURE : IOP RAW AT LONG ISLAND CAFE-opening soon!
We are looking for a Chef of the raw bar portion. This is an exciting new venture utilizing fresh, fun, local and high end ingredients to create small plates and seafood offerings. What could be better than eating raw oysters w/ local draft beers at the beach?
The chef will work with our chef owner on a daily basis to help create the changing menu.
Duties will include:
Staff and train a team of oysters shuckers.
Daily inventory and production
Ordering and rotation. logging selfish according to DHEC standards
keeping things neat clean and orderly.
Development and standardization of recipes and cost.
Hours of operation will be 4-10pm 7 days a week. (approx. 45-55 hours per week)
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years in the kitchen preferably with a culinary degree or comparable experience. Knowledge of oysters and eagerness to create relationships with local oysters farmers and farms in the area to showcase all the cool stuff the low country has to offer. this is an amazing opportunity!
