Seeking a skilled seamstress/seamster to assist with production of finished leather goods, including aprons, wallets, handbags and more. Work is based out of our shop on Johns Island. Visit www.calaveratoolworks.com to see main lineup.
Ideal candidate will have experience on industrial sewing machines, (i.e. Juki walking foot, bartacker, etc.), including but not limited to leather, roll goods or more general materials (clothing, bags, upholstery, sails, etc.).
Willing to train the right candidate with a more basic skill set, dependability and willingness to learn (emphasis on dependability!).
General duties:
Sewing
Cutting and assembly
Finished goods packaging
General shop organization
Pay range: $12-16/hr depending on skills and experience
Hours: 10-15 to start, with potential going up to 30
+ Bonus points for someone experienced in leatherworking, particularly handstitching.
Even more bonus points for someone who can take a solid photo/video for social media + website.
