Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking an Assembly Engineering Specialist. This is a remote role with 30% travel, based in one of the following locations: North Carolina; South Carolina; El Paso, TX or Waukesha, WI.The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:You will lead strategic programs and productivity improvements as a subject matter expert in assembly & wiring processes used in Electrical Sector Americas (ES-A) internal manufacturing. You will initiate and manage complex engineering projects related to assembly, sub-assembly, manual & automated wiring processes and other related manufacturing processes. Collaborating with all business units engineering and operations departments, you will act as a liaison between internal and external customers/end users, and the engineering team. You will evaluate and recommend through the use of developing and evolving product and process technology roadmaps in partnership with the supported businesses.As an Assembly Engineering Specialist, you will utilize your extensive experience on the plant floor to challenge the status quo of production processes. Your role will involve thinking creatively and introducing innovative ideas and technologies to enhance our production lines. With a strong background in implementing new solutions and driving continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment, you will play a crucial part in advancing our operational efficiency and effectiveness.Essential Functions Include :Engage with ES-A Manufacturing Sites – Lead and mentor the 50+ manufacturing sites on world class manufacturing and productivity improvements. Establish and provide design for manufacturing guidelines to support product lines. Develop and maintain skills requirements for assembly staff across ES-A. Coordinate best practice implementation between multiple facilities.Lead Strategic Programs – Become ES-A subject matter expert (SME) for assembly, sub-assembly, wiring and supporting processes. Defining world class manufacturing for assembly with standards to optimize productivity. Cognizant of assembly across ES-A; lead technology roadmap for process development. Drive I4.0 technologies into assembly, sub-assembly, wiring and supporting processes. Maintain awareness of leading processes, material technologies, trends and applicability to ES-A operationsProcess Improvements – Develop and support portfolio of improvement programs across ES-A assembly operations including materials, machines, and process control. Charged with assisting the divisions and sites in achieving product performance and functional continuous improvements including but not limited to: product cost reductions, the implementation of technical innovations, and the innovative resolution of technical and manufacturing problems. Lead value engineering, DOE, RIE events, problem-solving tools to improve part cost, quality, performance and existing manufacturing challenges.Capital Investment Projects – Work with maintenance team, and outside contractors to implement new equipment and processes, improve performance, and minimize equipment downtime. Manage capital and expense spending for assigned projects and prepares financial justification for projects in support of CAR analysis.What will make you successful?The ideal candidate brings excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work to deadlines with a high degree of accuracy. Strong manufacturing experience and knowledge, as well as understanding of Industry Standards and application to the product will be essential. Experience with CIF, Lean, Six Sigma, Quality Management Systems and EHS implementation associated to assembly operations to assess and solve complex problems will beneficial to this role. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
Minimum seven (7) years of applicable industry experience in the area of assembly, operations and related processes
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates in North Carolina, South Carolina OR within a 50-mile radius of El Paso, TX or Waukesha, WI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge in the following areas:
Automated, semi-automated and manual assembly
Complex wiring and wiring harnesses
Electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, parts drawings, bills of material and other production documentation
Lean Six Sigma Certification – including experience identifying new processes integrating automation and cost-effective solutions to manufacturing process problems utilizing lean principles
Knowledge of the technical aspects of assembly operations, establish critical process control parameters, and ensure process parameter management
