Responsibilities:
1. Serves as Project Manager for specific agency projects and activities; works with Security and Technology Services Management on priorities and timeframes of projects; plans work and schedule for projects; coordinates interaction between interrelated project teams, reviews and assesses progress of projects and activities and takes corrective action where necessary
2. Ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to customer requirements
3. Is required to follow methodology, the Project Management Approach For The Systems Development Lifecycle
4. Assists Agency management and project stakeholders in information technology planning related to the program
5. Clarifies expectations and defines requirements. Directs the work activities and priorities of team leaders, architects, consultants, analysts, and technicians engaged in design, procurement, testing, and implementation of projects and activities. Responsible for providing feedback to management on staff, assignments, training, development, and performance related to agency.
6. Serves as primary contact person for project stakeholders and contractors to resolve day-to-day issues, process change requests, and manage schedules for projects and activities. Escalates to the management and project sponsors any issues, change requests, and schedule impacts.
7. Coordinates with agency management and resources responsible for ongoing maintenance and support of components post-implementation as needed for knowledge transfer and for coordination with new implementation.
8. Estimates, tracks and reports on costs, including potential hard dollar, and internal personnel and contractor hours. Reports regularly to Management and Sponsor as to project status, including project accomplishments, issues, risks, and financials. Serves as project advisor to Management, Project Sponsors, and Steering Committee.
9. Documents expected benefits, such as reduction in cycle time, personnel savings, and any hard dollar savings for any enhancement requests other than ones mandated by legislation.
10. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS (RANKED IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
1. Excellent verbal and written communications to include grammar, composition, punctuation, writing, editing and proofreading skills
2. Team player
3. Leadership skills
4.

Working knowledge of the PMI project management lifecycle
5. Experience in developing and maintaining documentation for core project collateral, training, policies, procedures, and best practices
6. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the needs of technical peers, technical and user management, business users, vendors, and staff members
7.

At least 3 years of experience on infrastructure or network-related projects as well as applications projects
8. Experience with meeting facilitation
9. Working knowledge of the change management lifecycle
10.

Experience with requirements / environments for PCI, PUB1075, and/or NIST.

PREFERRED SKILLS (RANKED IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
1. Experience as a project manager in government IT projects
2. Knowledge of Microsoft products- Windows, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, MS Office, Office 365, Visio
3. Knowledge of information technology best practices, organization and operations
4. BA and/or QA experience
5. Ability to write training documentation and/or procedures
6. Vendor management skills
7. Metrics analysis and reporting
8. Applicable industry certifications for project management or specific technologies
9. Easily adapts to changing priorities in a dynamic environment
10. Ability to conduct research into issues and products as required
11. Information security experience
