The Waste Process Technician I (WPT I) is an entry-level position responsible for SAFELY performing the following fundamental tasks which may include the following: loading outbound trucks, waste stream/material identification and segregation, verifying container count, manifest number and other relevant data needed for waste/material processing. Container sampling, recognizing non-conforming material, and processing of material through baling and compacting. The WPT I is expected to have a general mechanical understanding of waste processing equipment. Specifically, forklift, forklift attachments, baler and compactor operation.
The WPT I is expected to understand basic Standard Operating Procedures and conduct daily activities to support all Safety and compliance requirements.
The WPT I will operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to forklifts, balers, compactors, pressure washers, hand trucks, and other power tools in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA requirements, and all local, state, and federal laws. The WPT I must be able to safely operate mobile equipment (e.g., forklift) within the facility boundaries.
The WPT I will be expected to become forklift certified.
All employees must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check as well as a Motor Vehicle Report, previous employment, and criminal history records review
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree)
Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug test, and background check
Must have proof of COVID-19 vaccination by employment start date
Must be safety conscious, reliable, and have a strong work ethic
Hands-on experience with equipment including but not limited to forklifts, balers, compactors, pressure washers, hand trucks, and other power tools
Strong organizational, detail-orientation, and prioritization skills
Effectively work in a team setting
