Our client company is a major warehousing distributor, seller, service provider, and installer of law enforcement and public safety fleet vehicle equipment including emergency lighting, and related law enforcement products that are typically employed by public safety entities. In addition, they are major distributors of law enforcement, tactical supplies, duty gear, firearms, ammunition, uniforms, and other public safety products. The company operate 21 locations scattered around the Southeast and Southwest. Founded in 2005 by a group of law enforcement and fleet professionals, the operation has grown to become one of the largest companies of its type in the United States. The operation directly employs 230 people, which includes a full-time outside sales staff of more than 30 personnel who meet and service public safety customers on a daily basis. The inside sales support team of 11 support outside sales efforts and provide immediate customer support along with the administrative and support staff of more than 50. They also employ more than 80 emergency vehicle technicians. Our client builds an average of 5,500 public safety vehicles annually with a sales volume in equipment and installations of approximately 90 million dollars.
Position Overview
Assembles switch panels, circuit boards, and a variety of electrical components
Fundamental use of various pneumatic and power tools
Familiar with safe operation of various tools - drill, screw gun, sander, jig saw, etc.
Understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English
Close attention to detail
Function with a minimal amount of supervision
Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
Meet minimum safety and 5S standards
Meet all QA and QC standards for each task
Be compliant with all rules of conduct and attendance per the company handbook
Know spill response procedures and evacuation routes
Qualifications
Able to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
Able to read and understand engineering drawings, layout, and other written or verbal instructions presented in English
Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices
Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees
Fundamental use of various pneumatic and power tools
Familiar with the safe operation of various tools including but not limited to drills, screw gun, etc.
Ability to use basic mathematics
Must have knowledge of EPA and OHSA standards
Be trained in Hazardous Materials Handling Operations with an annual refresher course
