DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities:Establish, maintain and enforce facility environmental policies, practices and procedures to comply with Federal, State and local laws and regulations. Actively work to implement continuous improvement actions to promote a healthier environment and reduce use of non-renewable energy.Specific Duties:·Actively work with Operations, Chemical Warehouse Attendant, Waste Water Treatment Personnel to monitor and dispose of waste (hazardous and non-hazardous) in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations·Maintains compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws concerning employee safety and health and environmental conditions.·Completes and submits all required Federal EPA, EGLE, and DOT reports and forms in a timely manner·Conducts necessary air monitoring to address industrial hygiene and indoor air quality issues.·Coordinates the activities in resolution in environmental issues using Accident Investigation process (FM TIPS).·Maintain minutes as necessary·Establishes and maintains the Plant Emergency Response Team as it relates to Chemical Spill response.Provides necessary training and determine equipment needs. In addition, works with the Health and Safety Coordinator in completing the Plant Emergency Response procedure(s·Leads the cross-functional team in conjunction with the Health and Safety Coordinator and issues the EHSMS manual.·Tracks performance of EHSMS management programs.·Reviews system for non-conformance reports·Establishes and maintains an Integrated Contingency Plan·Maintains all required environmental files, work instructions, and standard operating procedures·Obtains all necessary permits for environmental activities including air permits, NPDES permit for wastewater treatment, Stormwater permit and others as required·Oversees chemical storage / hazardous waste storage area.Direct actions of Outside Hi-Lo Operator in environmental activities·Coordinates hazardous waste disposal activities including scheduling and manifesting shipments.Conduct necessary training·Maintains contacts with Federal, State and local regulatory officials as well as fellow professionals·Plays lead role in capital / expense projects as they relate to environmental issues.·Manages written programs, training and report submittal for the following programs (not all-inclusive):Chrome NESHAP, Lead exposure, Process safety management plan for Ammonia (11,000 gallon pressurized tank), Manages/maintains ISO-14001 including aspects development, objectives and targets, and Electronic Discharge Monitoring Report (eDMR)·Conduct compliance and annual energy audits/evaluations·Coordinate modified work·Manage SDS database·Schedule, attend and participate in management reviews·Design, implement and maintain internal and external communication requirements and documentation required·Conducts the Pollution prevention inspection and subsequently completes, tracks, and implements corrective actions identified·Works with Cross-functional team to monitor and maintain site security plan and makes improvements as needed·Performs other duties as requiredREQUIREMENTS:Education:Bachelors of Science Degree in Safety and/or Environmental Management or related field preferredExperience:·3-5 years in the environmental coordination and regulation·Experience in a manufacturing facility preferred in an environmental role·Must be computer literate -, Microsoft Office and Excel·Working knowledge of current safety and environmental laws and regulations·Understanding of production and management systems·Knowledge of metal working equipment and processesEqual Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled
