OverviewCurrently, Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) provides expert solutions in Advanced Technology, Research and Development Services, Cyber Security, Intelligence Analysis and Operations, Healthcare, and Mission Systems to a variety of customers across the Federal Civilian, Intelligence, Department of Defense, and Healthcare sectors.HII is soliciting mid-level AWS engineer candidates with a healthcare IT engineering background to work with our team providing worldwide enterprise Health Information Technology engineering support in: system engineering; enterprise infrastructure; network security; network operations; systems integration; infrastructure and network migration services for customers within the military Medical Community of Interest (MEDCOI).ResponsibilitiesWork with our team providing engineering services to include design, build, test, implementation and migration of infrastructure, platforms, applications and systems from on-premises data center to Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud. Provide expert systems engineering support for network, server, and virtualization considerations. Perform root cause analysis and documentation of technical lessons learned. As part of larger risk management, research and develop solutions for new or unknown engineering issues as they appear, and create knowledge base articles for common issues. Specific responsibilities include: Develop high-quality software design, architecture, and artifacts Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks in the software-development lifecycle Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code and scripts Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting Review and debug code associated with provisioning and configuration Conduct validation and verification testing for provisioned resources and shared services Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products Participate in daily scrums and technical collaborations with appropriate reporting and documentation of activities and engineering solutions Ensure cloud-native resources/services are in-scope for FedRAMP High useQualifications

Three years of hands-on experience with health IT, including technology analysis and assessment, design definition, development of systems specifications, systems analysis, and systems architecture

Understanding of cloud computing principles and knowledge of AWS environment and terminologies

Experience in software development, scripting, and cloud computing

Demonstrated ability to work well within teams and with senior engineers

MIP Cloud Transition Team requires beginner/intermediate-level cloud practitioners and experienced analysts to support preparing, utilizing & optimizing AWS GovCloud for migration of on-premises data center

Ideal cloud practitioner candidates will possess experience with AWS-native services/resource utilization, large-scale data migration from on-prem to AWS, backup restoration into AWS via Veeam or AltaVault, and/or AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)

Successful cloud practitioner candidates will possess working knowledge of AWS services and resources, secure cloud computing principles via cloud-native or other security approaches, and transition/cutover operations

Successful analyst candidates will have working knowledge of requirements gathering for an enterprise scale involving multiple solutions
