This is the official authorized Segway Tour company for Hilton Head Island. Great job for a retiree or someone looking to pick up extra dollars during the week.
How it works:
1. Let us know when you are available. Mornings only? Afternoon only? All day? Weekends only? Weekdays only? Or, any time.
2. When a tour books, we send you a text. You confirm. You train guests on how to ride a Segway and take off!
3. Receive $30-$45 per tour guaranteed (tours are from 60 to 120 minutes, plus set up and set down time. Plus tips. Average tips are $8-$10 per person, but can be higher or $0. Tours can include from 2 to 6 guests. Beyond 6, we assign a second and third guide depending on the group size.
We provide training. You must be entertaining, in good shape, have a clear voice and a good personality! You must be reliable. We assign the tour based on you stating you are available, so if you miss one tourguests are unhappy and you unfortunately can't work for us. Howeverin 5 years of operation, this has only happened one time for one guide (compared to thousands of tours).
It's a fun job. Guests arrive happy and leave happy.
This is an "extra" income positionnot a full time job. There are peak months where you will be really busy. There are other times when we only do a tour every other day, so you may not have any tours for a week or longer. One of our guides uses his extra pay as "golf money". Another is an Uber Driver, doing Segway tours between rides. One is a retired school administrator and another is a retired police officer. Tours are 12 months a year.
Pay is every two weeks by direct deposit. We are a licensed business in partnership with the Town of Hilton Head Island.
