Description
Robert Half is seeking a SQL Database Administrator who loves the challenge of solving problems with multiple layers of complexity to join a company in the Financial Services field. The Database Administrator role is a full-time opportunity and is situated in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
Your responsibilities
- Restore service to databases as outages happen, including after hours and on weekends
- Establish the baseline for system performance, recognize deviation, and suggest and implement improvements to slow running queries
- Maximize performance through effective hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
- Ensure the design and execution of database server topology, configuration, and maintenance meet SLA objectives
- Configure database monitoring utilities to avoid false alarms
- Manage all database instances across development, staging, and production environments, handling installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Suggest solutions for database design, tuning options, and other potential issues
Requirements
- Prior experience in production and on-call environments
- Prior experience building and maintaining documentation
- Power BI experience required
- Foundational knowledge in data warehousing
- Solid understanding of Microsoft SQL Server
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Azure
- Skilled at making improvements to query performance
- 5+ years of database experience
- Good understanding of relational database management systems
- Working knowledge of storage and server hardware required
