POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for managing the conversion of data from an existing on-line mainframe system to a new Medicaid & CHIP Eligibility System. Data will also need to be transferred back to the on-line system. Data will need to be transferred for analytical and decision support needs. Ensure that data testing activities are coordinated and managed, and to participate in planning testing activities for the project, including unit, integration, system and acceptance testing of appropriate test data, monitoring test coverage, and reporting on test activities, issues and discrepancies. Communicates status, issues and risks to BIT Project Lead.
The successful candidate should have the following knowledge and experience for this position:
Experience in conversion of mainframe datasets (VSAM/Adabas) to modern database technologies using modern ETL and ELT tools.
Knowledge of Medicaid &CHIP Eligibility System operations and data.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Participate in requirements verification sessions and approve/accept all data conversion planning and requirements specification deliverables;
Participate in the design of data conversion modules and approve/accept all general and detailed data conversion design deliverables;
Coordinate testing and approve/accept data conversion test plans and deliverables;
Facilitates resolution of business issues among project and vendor technical staff pertaining to data conversion design, development and implementation;
Works with Vendor Data Conversion Manager to develop and maintain detailed data conversion design, development and implementation work plan;
Coordinates data extract and verification processes with incumbent vendor;
As a member of the project's technical team, participates in reviews of other technical deliverables.

Understanding of data conversion complexities;
Ability to work within a demanding project environment;
Bachelor's degree plus five years' experience in systems development with emphasis on data conversion.
