DOG sitter needed (your home only)
I am a hospice caregiver and will be coming to Rapid City to care for a patient with advanced Alzheimers beginning this week. (September 28) I have a 15-year-old full-blooded chihuahua male. He is very sweet, calm natured, not a yapper or barker. Lives for rides in the car. Is ok with other smaller dogs and cats and birds, but is frightened of big dogs. As with many dogs of this age, he tends to sleep more as he gets older. He is well trained, healthy, and loves to just be around someone. He would be a perfect companion for someone retired or a stay at home mom.
The only issue is that he is frightened of thunderstorms and he will pant, and shake non stop until it passes. There is not much that can console him during these storms, he will likely look for a place to hide to ride it out, like under a bed or a table.
If you are an animal lover, have experience with older dogs, have the time and ability to care for him in your home while I am working. ( likely 1-4 months) then I would love to hear from you. I will come to take him for walks and visit during my breaks and 1 full day off a week.
