Responsible for keeping the dish room and dish machine in clean, working order. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards using machine and manual cleaning methods. May be responsible for stocking the establishment with clean supplies for staff and guests, such as napkins and condiments. Other dishwasher job duties may consist of cleaning up around the cafe and assisting other staff members as needed.Other duties include, but not limited to:
Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine. Sort and stack clean dishes.
Change dishwater in dish machine as needed. Wash pots, pans and trays by hand.
Sweep and mop floors as instructed.
General café cleaning as directed.
Wipe up spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry.
Must notify manager anytime dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
Works with team members and other staff members in a helpful, respectful and courteous manner; interact with internal and external customers in a positive manner.
Light food preparation duties as requested. Maintain safe work practices and follows safety procedures.
You're a good fit ifAbility to follow verbal instructions in English. Previous experience preferred but not required. Will train on the job. Fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness and personal hygiene.Involves constant movement and physical activity while on the clock. Must be able to operate different machines and know the proper specifications needed to sterilize café utensils. Must be aware of basic sanitary guidelines. Due to the nature of the job, should be comfortable routinely lifting large loads and equipment.Must be able to read labels on chemicals.
