What You Get To Do:The Manager, Field Training provides oversight for the correctional facility in areas that include staff training and development, instructional design, and training management. Develops, implements, and/or manages all policies and programs in the area of training administration for a large and diverse workforce. Identifies facility-wide and individual development needs. Monitors and/or leads learning and development sessions, providing a learning environment that promotes self-development. Partners with management in the decision making process for meeting the goals and objectives of the Learning and Development Program for the facility. Supervises and directs subordinate staff to accomplish program goals and requirements.Prepares annual learning and development plan in cooperation with facility management and other Learning and Development staff. Advises facility leadership on policy and planning related to the training development mission at the facility. Identifies management barriers and/or problems that adversely affect employee career growth opportunities, and advises management on the implementation of standardized practices and principles for incorporating career development strategies into the workplace.

Manages and develops the Field Training Program, and monitors on-the-job training activities (OJT). Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs and facilitates communication between trainers and supervisors to ensure that training needs are identified and addressed.

Conducts training needs surveys and analyzes data to anticipate development and training needs for specific categories of positions.

Supervises students assigned to learning and development programs to include establishing and maintaining student records, evaluating student comprehension of learning objectives, offering career guidance, and taking appropriate corrective or disciplinary action. Provides performance evaluation feedback as requested and suggests appropriate development activities.

Evaluates all aspects of training and development programs, including: administrative policies and procedures, curricula, instructional methods and techniques, qualifications of instructors, adequacy and utilization of training aids and devices, facilities, equipment, testing, and student counseling.

Collaborates with employees and supervisors to identify individual formal/informal learning and development opportunities to enhance job performance and career development.

Designs lesson plans and training materials by identifying the learning objectives, analyzing learning problems, selecting teaching strategies using appropriate models, and developing course plans and course content.

Domestic U.S travel is required.

Qualifications:Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree is required.

Three years of experience in training, classroom instruction or curriculum development is required.

Experience in a criminal justice field is preferred.

Supervisory experience is preferred.

Additional related work experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Experience in Microsoft Office or other similar software applications is required.

Knowledge of learning management platforms is preferred.

Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.

A valid driver's license is required.
