Come join us on our journey to create solutions for a sustainable future!Where the Chemistry Happens…Lab Technician – 1902883 – Chattanooga, TN This position is responsible for quality assurance testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products for the BASF Corp. High Solids SB Dispersions Plant in Chattanooga, TN. The incumbent will conduct analytical testing on finished latex in support of a 24/7 ISO 9001 manufacturing operation. Evaluation of data is based on internal and external specifications. The incumbent will evaluate products and interact with the Production Team to expedite shipment to customers utilizing SAP. The key tests include the safe, accurate and timely measurement of viscosity, solids content, pH, particle size, surface tension, coagulum as well as excellent analytical skills involving titrations, refractive index, and gas chromatography. A developed proficiency in workflow management and prioritization is necessary to support the speed of production. Must be able to lift up to a maximum of 49 lbs on occasion Lab Technicians will work on a 12-hour rotating shift with 24/7 coverage which includes days and nights.Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and 3 years laboratory experience in a manufacturing environment OR Associates degree in a Chemical Technology Program.Preferred Qualifications: Ability to operate various controlled instruments in addition to familiarity with personal computers (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel) Detail oriented with the ability to record (via notebook or computer) and report pertinent data. Ability to prioritize tasks Follow all applicable safety procedures including usage of correct personal protective equipment.
