Job Description

Provides leadership to manage Principle’s business for assigned accounts. Ensures outstanding customer service while achieving Principle’s financial objectives.

Leads the account’s project management team in executing customer projects and fulfilling customer orders to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. Communicates account information to leadership and other internal organizations. Anticipates potential problems, working with other Principle functional areas to address issues in a proactive manner. Ensures ongoing customer communication and follow-up.
Manages the account’s financial performance (product margin, install margin, billings, assets, costs, warranty). Provides leadership to ensure achievement of the account’s targets including revenue, profitability, cash flow, and asset management. Provides input for regular financial updates and forecasts.
Provides day-to-day leadership, direction, coaching, and support for the account team. Works with Human Resources in selecting new team members and planning initial orientation and training for new members. Evaluates team member performance and developmental needs and engages in performance feedback discussions. Works with team members to identify and address developmental needs.
Leads the team in developing and achieving plans to meet customer requirements and implement improvements. Works to ensure effective and efficient account processes, systems, policies, and procedures. May participate in cross-functional process improvement teams.
Coordinates with other functional areas (Engineering, Art, Manufacturing, etc.) to communicate customer needs and ensure support for the account’s objectives and requirements.
Supports the sales strategy for the account assisting the account Sales Manager as required. Assists the Sales Manager in developing quotes, proposals, and customer presentations. Participates in trade shows, sales calls, and customer meetings as required.
Works with Operations leadership and the account Sales Manager to develop and implement a business strategy to achieve objectives for growth in revenue and profitability. Helps identify and prioritize opportunities for new and improved products and services.
Effectively models the values and complies with all rules, policies, and procedures of Principle Group.
Supports Principle’s safety goals and objectives.

Qualifications

At least three years of related project management or customer service experience. Must have demonstrated excellent performance as a Customer Account Manager or Project Manager and have a strong understanding of Principle’s products and services, internal operations, and business processes.
Very strong customer focus. Understands customer needs and makes customer satisfaction a key priority. Demonstrated customer service orientation.
Understanding of key financial measurables and the relationship of account activities to these measurables.
Strong communications skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with customer contacts at varying levels of the organization: account team members, Sales Managers, internal organizations such as Manufacturing, Engineering, or Finance. Should be effective in communicating one-on-one or to small groups, by phone or in person, verbally and in writing. Presentation development and delivery skills are important. Should also have skills in meeting planning and facilitation.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to build a team and stimulate high performance from a team.
Strong skills in training and coaching others.
Strong personal computer skills (Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Demonstrated professional maturity and business acumen
Displays confidence, with a high degree of personal motivation and energy.
Ability to manage stress incumbent to a business environment that is deadline oriented.
High energy level and hands-on orientation with a very high level of detail orientation.
Able to multitask and function effectively in a fast paced environment, with strong time management and deadline prioritizing skills.
Good written and communication skills.
Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
Consistent, high quality work.
Advanced PC skills (Windows-based) required, especially in Excel.
Reliable and dependable relative to punctuality and attendance.
