LIVE-IT Thrift Store is faith based non-profit organization seeking a PT experienced donation processor. The thrift store exists to support LIVE-IT Ministries by selling gently used clothing, housewares, electronics, furniture, jewelry, toys, linens, etc We accept donations at our location Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm

Job Description. Are you detail oriented? Do you have some retail experience? Do you know name brands, pricing of different items? If so, we would love to you join our awesome team. Your high level of accuracy and productivity helps ensure the donations from the warehouse area get to the front of thrift store as requested. This position is responsible for accepting, sorting, some cleaning and processing all donations. Must be able to discern good quality items from poor as we offer only the best quality products to our customers that shop our thrift store. Must be willing to cross train with front floor area when needed. Cross training Must be able to run a cash register, make change, provide customer service, personally and over the phone.

POSITION PURPOSE

To process all donations to provide the best quality product from the warehouse area to the store front area. To help promote all aspects of the thrift store as well as the ministry: buying, selling, pricing, and merchandising. Promote a high level of customer service. Explain the purpose of the thrift store as it relates to supporting LIVE-IT Ministry.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

-This position will be punctual and reliable.

-Be familiar with products, brands, and prices and make recommendations of products, including their features and benefits, to suit customers' needs. Will ensure products are cleaned, tested and ensured they are functional before arriving to store front for merchandising.

-May perform daily opening and closing procedures

-Handle donations by determining appropriate items to accept; give a receipt to donors.

-Price and ticket items appropriately based on pricing/buying guidelines.

-Restock store following management guidelines when asked. Maintain a clean work area and follow store housekeeping and maintenance standards and procedures.

Duties include but not limited to:

Receive and process donations

Prepare proper documentation for all incoming donations

Inspect, clean, price and/or organize donations for thrift store

Work with and possibly supervise volunteers

Maintain a clean, neat and organized work environment

Communicate with associates, management

Operate a cash register

Develop proficiency in time management and best practices for quantity of product processed each day.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma and stockroom experience preferred

Prior customer service/retail or thrift store experience and thrift store pricing a bonus.

Ability to work well as a team member and to take and follow directions.

Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks during busy, sometimes stressful times, flexible hours with a positive, enthusiastic outlook.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Must be computer literate.

Must have transportation to and from work.

Must have a working telephone for contact purposes.

OTHER CONDITIONS: It must be recognized that all specific duties cannot be listed and that responsibilities will change accordingly as the need arises. The donation processor will be responsible for accomplishing unforeseen tasks that relate to assigned functions. As conditions warrant, this job descriptions shall be amended from time to time. Occasional heavy lifting may be required. Flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the business including Saturdays. All Sundays off

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours a day.

Lifting up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

Bending, rotating, stooping and reaching conducive to a retail environment and to receiving, pricing and stocking merchandise
